A symposium on the use of bactriophages in clinical practice will be held in the Netherlands

Recently, the press has seen an increasing number of publications devoted to bacteriophages—bacteria-killing viruses. Bacteriophages are seen as an affordable and logical solution to the spread of antibiotic resistance worldwide. While patients with difficult-to-treat infections need treatment, the effectiveness of bacteriophages requires confirmation in large-scale clinical trials conducted in accordance with all EU regulatory requirements. To discuss the design of such studies , a Symposium on the Use of Bacteriophages in Clinical Practice will be held in Utrecht, the Netherlands, on February 22, 2018. Leading international experts in phage therapy from Belgium, France, Georgia, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland have been invited to the Symposium.

Symposium organizers: Utrecht University Medical Center and the Netherlands Centre for One Health .

Physicians and scientists interested in the problems of phage therapy are invited to the Symposium.
