Registration is now open for two online forums dedicated to bacteriophages and phage therapy. The first, the Bacteriophage Therapy Summit 2020 in Boston, will take place on August 27-28, 2020, and the second, the Phages 2020 Virtual conference in Oxford, will take place on September 9-10, 2020.

The Bacteriophage Therapy Summit 2020 will be held online on August 27-28, 2020. The event's program covers a wide range of topics related to the use of bacteriophages. One of the key issues to be discussed is the rapid spread of antibiotic resistance. Furthermore, the development of phage therapy currently requires addressing a number of regulatory issues, as in most Western countries, bacteriophages are used only when other medications fail.
The summit will feature over 20 expert presentations from scientists and representatives of companies developing and producing phage preparations. The following topics are planned for discussion:
- phage lysins as antimicrobial agents,
- bacteriophages as modulators of the human microbiome,
- phages in the treatment of infections in biofilms,
- treatment of acne and other chronic diseases,
- dosage forms of phage preparations,
- selection of phages for therapy,
- production of phage preparations,
- delivery of phages to target organs,
- the use of phages in implantable medical devices,
- creation of a universal phage library,
- genetic modifications of phages to expand their specificity and prevent the development of phage resistance in bacteria.

The Phages 2020 Virtual online scientific conference , dedicated to the use of bacteriophages in medicine, food industry and biotechnology, is scheduled for September 9-10, 2020.
The conference focuses on all aspects of bacteriophage research, primarily their potential applications in medicine, the food industry, and biotechnology. The organizers invite scientists and students to participate with both short papers and poster presentations.
Among the confirmed speakers is the renowned popularizer of the idea of phage therapy, Professor Elizabeth Kutter (The Evergreen State College, Olympia, Wisconsin, USA).
